Corita Kent was an amazing social activist and artist who began her impact in the mid-1950's. I had stumbled across a book of her work, Someday Is Now, a few years back and would often look at it from time to time, drawing inspiration for my block printing, graphics, and whatever projects I was working on. Then, back in September, I was able to see a small collection of her work being featured nearby in Hollywood. Corita's graphic use of color led me to draw dozens of variations of my logo, labels, and truly was the inspiration behind my first collection. This image, about Roses, is one of my absolute favorites.
